Meet Sean Bartley, Emmy Winning Producer and Photographer

We’re so excited to introduce you to our audience! Introduce yourself.

My name is Sean B, I’m a producer and photographer! I’m also the creator of Connect The Series.

So, let’s start from the beginning. Where are you originally from and what were your interests as a youth? Did those interests lead you to what you do today?

I was raised in Acworth, GA and as a youth I enjoyed playing sports and talking up a storm with others. High school is where my drive for storytelling came to the forefront. Those interests of storytelling have definitely led me to where I’m at today.

What or who inspired you to pursue this path?

A video production class introduced me to the world of video and directing. I remember a lesson I learned is that, when you’re setting up a frame it should be good enough to take a picture. With Instagram coming out at the same time I was in high school, photography and video production felt very natural to me. Leaning into that skillset helped me move forward in my career.

What are some of the challenges you’ve had to overcome in pursuit of this path?

There are quite a few challenges from constant rejection to life balance, but the biggest challenge for me is understanding that there will be a learning curve with everything you do. I’ve had to give myself some grace over the years to understand that not everything will go the way I expect it to and that it’s okay to make mistakes…just continue to learn from them.

What are your goals for your business or just for yourself?

My primary focus is to produce stories that allow you to laugh and ponder about what your time here on earth means to you. Connecting like-minded individuals to tell stories is another piece to the puzzle for me. It would be great to continue mentoring the next generation of storytellers as the industry continually changes.

Who are your top influences today?

My biggest influence is music! I constantly listen to different genres to fuel my creativity! Sometimes I’ll hear a song and I can see the visuals from it, often times sparking the idea for my next project.

What does your support system look like? Who do you turn to when you need motivation or reassurance?

The people in my circle hold me accountable and push me forward! They are always open to hearing my ideas and give me that reassurance to trust my instincts. Be intentional with your support system because they are the ones who will bring your name up in rooms when you’re not around.

What would you say is your Magnum Opus? (Your best piece of work or project to date)

My best piece of work is Connect The Series. Creating something that started out as an idea and is now two full seasons on a streaming platform is amazing to see!

Tell us how it felt to win an Emmy? That is an amazing accomplishment to achieve so young!

It’s always great to be recognized and appreciated for your hard work! It’s a humbling feeling, but I’m thankful that I got to be on such a supportive and creative team that continued to push the boundary of storytelling!

Can you see yourself doing this for the rest of your life or do you think you’ll eventually branch out into other endeavors?

I would like to venture off into other fields or endeavors but producing and telling stories will always be my bread and butter.

If you could leave the world with one last thought,  what would it be?

Love the ones around you, be patient with yourself and go after what you want!

Is there anything else we should know? Any exciting upcoming plans or things to look out for?

I have been working on a short film that I plan on dropping sometime soon!

Where can people find you online? How can people best support you?

Take a look at my website and be sure to bookmark it! This year I will be dropping more work on my site to connect with my audience.
